E McGee is an artist based in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
Elizabeth is a multidisciplinary Canadian artist whose work spans photography, creative nonfiction, poetry, music, and journalism. Through image, language, and song, their practice explores memory, identity, gender, trauma, love, loss, resilience, and the emotional landscapes that shape a life.
Elizabeth holds a Master of Arts in Community Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University and is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Nonfiction and Journalism at Western Connecticut State University. They have also studied creative writing at Humber College and songwriting through Berklee College of Music's Writing the Lyrics program.
Their poetry has appeared in Bywords Quarterly Journal, Bywords.ca, In/Words Magazine, and Steel Chisel. They have been featured as a reader at Bywords Quarterly Journal and In/Words Magazine launch events, and their work has also been featured on CHUO FM.
As a songwriter and musician, Elizabeth released Kitchen Demo (2012), recorded in their kitchen, followed by the EP Between Fisherman (2013). Their music has been represented by Community Tree Music, a Canadian music licensing agency supporting the placement of Canadian music in film. They are currently developing a concept album that weaves together songs written over more than two decades, following a young woman's journey through love, loss, trauma, healing, and identity.
Alongside their work as a writer and musician, Elizabeth creates street photography and still-life images of urban environments. Their photographs document the overlooked details of everyday life, exploring themes of memory, place, identity, and the traces people leave behind in the spaces they inhabit.
